By Way of Giants

We set off from our home-base in the late morning. The home-base is an old mansion that has been in our family for generations. It is well equipped for any adventure we may want to embark on. We have a garden that is home to many old guardians and powerful herbs.

On this first excursion, we had set our eyes on a not too distant place called Krašići. From our base, we headed west, through the ancient ruins. Much was left to be discovered there, but we had another goal for today.

Past the ruins we headed south and past a solitary native that was amusing himself with some sort of game.

Then we reached a long street that went up the south hill in a south westerly direction. There were single houses left and right of the street, like on the banks of some river.

Therefore, henceforth the street shall be named the Stone River Street. Many pretty flowers were found on this path, which shall be described later.

Two streets come together at the beginning to from the Stone River Street, and at the junction is a quaint center. It is vibrant, as a playground marks it. More peculiarly, it seems a giant has long ago lost his boot there. Perhaps that event lead to the creation of the town Gošići itself.

Over the ages, the shoe has become like stone.
The natives use it as a pot for some flowers.

We turned left and took the highroad. We reached the source of the street where a kind old man gave us directions over the Highlands.

The journey started easy. We came to a few outcoves that were made from mining expeditions.
After a long walk, we reached a climb, where we were attacked by spirits, attempting to siphon our strength. We valiantly fought this off. After the fight we found an outcove, which I promptly made to an outpost. A seat has been made, and there’s more to come.

As we took our rest there, I observed, that the highlands seem to be made of a long dead or sleeping beast, with the deep brown and red earth as its flesh, and large stone scales covered with then the green fur of vegetation. If it is sleeping, I hope we do not awake it.

Then we reached the Borderwall. A vast wall, that stretched far out of sight. It wasn’t tall, so it obviously wasn’t meant to keep anything out. Most likely it was simply a marker.
Shortly after however, I found the marks of an old battle. Perhaps it is for that reason, that the wall was made.

Then, at last, we reached a great landmark. The only thing I could think it was, was an unmarked grave of a giant. Perhaps the very same who lost his shoe, or maybe these lands used to be walked by giants more frequently.

Beside the grave was a church, erected like a sentinel.
The energy there was ancient.

From there we descended from the Highlands to our destination, Krašići. At first it seemed like a town plagued by the need to grow in a modern fashion. Yet, as we came closer to the water, its original energy took over.

Satisfied by our expedition, we hiked to our friends, the Lakičevićs, and took the Express back home.

Addition

We have recently discovered, that the relic of Gošići, the Giant’s Boot, has been damaged. The top portion seems to have been broken away. If anyone has any information as to how this happened, please contact us.
